No. While Spout harvests the humidity in the air, a change in air quality is not typically noticeable in the average home.

You can remove the tank by lifting the plastic cylinder above the tank straight up and inch or two, then tilting the top of the tank toward you till it comes out. It’s a bit of a tight fit, but it should work! Or you can lift the tank straight up, then swing the bottom of the tank out toward you. When you replace the tank, make sure you push it down hard, so the orange ring on the bottom is visibly lifted off the bottom of the tank.

Follow the instructions to remove the tank, then gently clean the inside and rinse thoroughly before putting the tank back into place.

Yes, we recommend that you do this. Your Spout will automatically turn off once the tank is full, but as a general rule, we recommend turning off appliances when leaving town.

Yes.  Some studies, including one by the Journal of the International Society of Sports Nutrition, claim alkaline water is actually more hydrating than regular water.  Others claim alkaline water is no more hydrating than regular tap or bottled water.
